
What to wear to class

A typical list of things to wear would include:
Close toed shoes or sandals that can get wet due to morning dew.
Cotton or synthetic t-shirt
Cotton or synthetic shorts or pants
A few extra things to consider:
Does your child get warm easily?
If so, they should wear lightweight synthetic clothing with shorter sleeves. They can wear cotton, but that can get warm.
Does your child get irritated by tall grass or bugs touching their legs or arms?
If so, they should wear lightweight long sleeve and pants. Some of our instructors wear very light long sleeves and pants every class.
Does your child get irritated by tall grass or bugs touching their feet?
If so they should wear close toed shoes that are comfortable to walk in instead of sandals.

Rain boots or sandals that can get wet due to the rain
Cotton or synthetic shirt or long sleeve if a cold rain is projected
A rain jacket for warm mid to late summer rain or waterproof winter jacket for cold spring and late fall rain OR rain suite/winter suite
Cotton or synthetic shorts or pants
Rain paints for warm mid to late summer rain or snow pants for cold spring and late fall rain
A few extra things to consider:
Does your child get easily irritated by the rain?
If so, they should be wearing their rain gear when they get to class and should have at least one full change of clothes in their backpack
Does your child get cold easily?
If so, they should wear or bring an extra sweatshirt to class since the rain can make people cold
Does your child get irritated by tall grass or bugs touching their feet?
If so, they should wear rain boots instead of sandals

A winter jacket that is insulated
A hat that covers the ears
Thick waterproof mittens or gloves
Leggings/long underwear
A pair of warm sweatpants that are preferably non-cotton
Snow pants
Wool socks
Winter boots
A few extra things to consider:
Does your child get cold easily?
If so, they should be wearing long underwear on top and on bottom. Consider also sending them in a windbreaker under their jacket.
Does your child’s feet and hands get cold easily?
If so, they should be wearing thick winter gloves or mittens and should be wearing one pair of wool socks with an extra pair packed in their bag

A few extra things to consider:
If it is snowy and wet, it is best for children to wear non-cotton clothing. Cotton holds moisture for a long period of time and will suck the body heat from the person wearing it to dry the wetness. We recommend synthetic materials because they dry quicker!
